Scents of Spring
Wearing a beautiful scent is in style at any age. Whether you wear a body lotion or spray, eau de parfum or eau de toilette ….if you’re like me you don’t feel completely dressed without a spritz or a dab.
With spring around the corner and having thoughts of all things light and airy and fresh on our minds, it may just the right time for a new fragrance and maybe even some brightly coloured perfume bottles on your dressing table.
A woman’s fragrance is personal and while you may love it wafting around you…it’s important to keep it light. For most perfumes a single spray to the neck is just the right amount. Usually, this is more than enough to create your “circle of scent”….an arm’s length away from your body is as far as your scent should reach.
While I love many of the classic fragrances, spring time offers a chance to break out of your signature scent (you can always return to your favourite in the Fall) and try something new. I’ve narrowed it down to a few that I like and will spend the next few weeks testing out the samples.
This brand new fragrance from Tory Burch is light and summery and while the tuberose and peony notes make it feminine, it has layers of citrus and green that keep it from being uncomfortably sweet.
Carven may be my first choice…white hyacinth, mandarin blossoms with a whiff of white sandalwood…clean and uncomplicated.
Flora by Gucci….a sophisticated essence of rose, peony, pink pepper…and not overly floral. Love it!
Versace’s Eros pour Femme…a bright and feminine scent. Lemon and jasmine with notes of sandalwood.
And then I discovered the new scent from Narciso Rodriguez…Poudree. So clean and fresh …rose, jasmine…but underneath a little bit woodsy. Think I’ve found the one…Simply Perfect!
If you like to change your scent every few months or if you’re looking for a great little gift…Sephora’s Rollerball Boutique offers an extensive selection of popular fragrances. Most are around $30.00 CA.
Happy weekend to everyone….thanks for stopping by!
